The Mistake: Getting The Wrong Weight
Muscles are a functional tissue, which means their main purpose is to move. For this reason, they are very resistant to change under repetitive movement with light loads or small amounts of weighted resistance. Muscles need both constant and heavy stimuli to cause them to change.
The Fix: In order to see results, you may need to lift a heavier weight. As a general rule, you should be able to raise the weight eight to 12 times before reaching exhaustion. If you’re fully fatigued by the last rep, you’ll get stronger and see visible changes in no time.
