Birchbox launches Athleisure – a skincare and beauty brand perfectly suited for gals who spend a lot of time in the gym.
We’re always looking for beauty products that don’t hide our features, but rather enhance our natural glow after an intense workout at the gym. As if they were reading our minds, Birchbox launches ARROW; a new brand they categorize as “athleisure;” a North American-made skincare and makeup line that is vegan, cruelty-, gluten-, and paraben-free.
The folks at Birchbox were nice enough to invite us to their launch event at Barreworks in Toronto, where we had the amazing opportunity to workout with creator of Body Conditioning by Dancers, and one of Canada’s top fitness trainers, Eva Redpath. The barre class was intense, but was definitely a great way to start the weekend.
While I recuperated with a cool bowl of acai purée topped with granola, dates, bananas, blueberry, coconut, and cinnamon, I got the chance to sniff through our ARROW water-resistant makeup bag ($16).
First up, and a personal favourite, the aluminum- and alcohol-free deodorant, PROTECT ($12). Aside from its refreshing minty and grapefruit smell (I’m a sucker for anything citrusy), the pocketsize stick is small and discreet enough to throw in any bag, including a carry-on suitcase. One swipe and you’re good to go for the day!
While there are those lucky enough to look refreshed and glowing after a workout, some of us aren’t so fortunate. However, the thought of blocking our pores with makeup before stepping back into society isn’t very appealing. In comes REVIVE ($24); ARROW’s Cooling Cheek Tint does just that, it cools your cheekbones while giving them a natural-looking tint in Berry Flush and Pink Punch. I was skeptical, but the immediate cooling effect had me hooked. I couldn’t help but use it under their BOOST Colour Enhancing Lip Balm ($18).
Stay tuned for their upcoming mascara, brow gel, facial mist, tinted serum, and cleansing cloths! Birchbox is a natural line that’s perfectly suited for that girl who spends lot of time in the gym.
